UNI World Executive Board calls on Teleperformance to sign global agreement
The UNI Global Union World Executive Board is calling on Paris-based Teleperformance to sign a global agreement that respects workers’ right to have a union and collectively bargain.
“Teleperformance workers have told us about difficult and disturbing working conditions, and the company operates in countries with significant human rights risks,” said Teresa Casertano, Head of UNI ICTS. “A global agreement is the only way for Teleperformance ensure it is complying with UN Guidelines and the French due diligence law.”
There has been a recent surge of activity from the Teleperformance Union Alliance. The eleven-country union coalition has sent Teleperformance a letter to remind the company of its obligations under France’s due diligence law, and it has launched a series of online actions.
The alliance’s demands were recently covered in the French media.
